O-Tū-Kapua is a ground-breaking collaboration that introduces atmospheric science to children in a meaningful way through the use of imagery, language, music and digital technology. It is part of the TEMP project, which aims to raise awareness of human impacts on climate change.
Meet members of the TEMP-air team, who have worked together to create O-Tū-Kapua, including representatives for the F4 artist collective, NIWA scientists, educators, Imersia app developers, composer Maree Sheehan and TEMP organiser, Diane Blomfield.
– Diane Blomfield is the TEMP programme director.
– Dr Roy C. Davies is the co-founder of Imersia, who have developed the O-Tū-Kapua app.
– As part of NIWA’s air quality team, Gustavo Olivares has developed new and engaging technologies to bring air quality science closer to the public.
– Maree Sheehan is a renowned musician and composer who has produced the sound and music elements for O-Tū-Kapua.
– James Smith is a designer, educator and current master’s student working at AUT’s Centre for Learning and Teaching developing creative digital tools for teachers and learners.
– A founding member of F4, Marcus Williams has experimented with art collaboration throughout his career and is increasingly interested in art for social change.
