Grow your own mushrooms with recycled coffee grounds with Chris Lee from Urban Farmers. Coffee grounds are a very good nutrient for mushroom growing. You can use the block for three growth cycles of gourmet oyster mushrooms. After finishing, the mushroom block can be used as a very good garden compost.

Chris will give us a demonstration of how to make a mushroom grow kit and tell us the story of his small business. Because it will take place outdoors we won’t be able to make our own kits as they would be most likely contaminated and therefore unable to be used for growing mushrooms. At the end of the workshop everyone who registered under [email protected] will get a mushroom grow kit for free everyone else can buy one at Chris’s stall in our Ecovillage for $10.
