Oceanographer Natalie Robinson talks about our connection with and reliance on the ocean, and how human behaviour is changing this relationship.
Natalie is a physical oceanographer at NIWA, specialising in observing physical processes across a range of scales. She primarily works in Antarctica on the many and varied connections between ice and ocean. Other current work includes measuring the turbulent wakes created by fish farms and the altered behaviour of fountains when they’re carrying buoyant particles.
